Draught Cyder at The Corner House

Brand new draught cyder at The Corner House

draught cyderAs much as we love beer at The Corner House, we love our cyder too, and it’s getting to the time of year where there’s not much better than sitting in the sun with a glass – and our brand new draught cyder is just in time!

The draught cyder, made by Aspall in Suffolk, is fruity and thirst quenching, perfect for summer months. If you like a drink with your meal and fancy a cyder, this one is best served with curries, chicken, and bramley apple pie!

Aspall themselves were established in 1728 by Clement Chevallier, who planted orchards at Aspall Hall in Suffolk, in the tiny hamlet of Aspall, north of the small market town of Debenham. The Chevallier family still live and work among the orchards today, making them the 8th generation of the family to run Aspall. They add Champagne yeast to all of their fermentations to efficiently ferment sugar to alcohol, and ensure all the natural aroma and flavour of the apple shines through. This makes for a real traditional cider – and it’s quickly become one of our favourites at The Corner House.

Pop in and try and glass of our new draught cyder – our sunny garden is ready and waiting too!

Roast dinners have always been something we’ve put a big emphasis on at The Corner House, and thanks to our passion for quality home cooked food, we’ve been rewarded with countless reviews rating our pub roasts as the best in Worthing.

A good roast consists of quality meat, lots of veg, and of course, the crowning glory, the Yorkshire pudding. With this in mind, every Sunday we offer pub roasts in Worthing that we’re proud of, and we’re pleased to say that diners are very happy too! ‘One of the best I have had out in at least a year’ said one customer on Tripadvisor, with another claiming our Yorkshires to be ‘the biggest she’d ever seen’. High praise indeed!

Of course, one of the most important element of offering pub roasts in Worthing in making sure we cater for vegetarians too. We find our vegetarian strudel to be very popular of a Sunday afternoon, and it comes with all the trimmings you’d expect with a roast. The child’s roast caters for small appetites, and our pub is dog friendly – the whole family can come!

We’re proud to be offering traditional pub roasts in Worthing, and our Sunday Menu is available from 12-4pm. The popularity of our food means we get very busy, and it’s advisable to book to avoid disappointment – call us on 01903 216463 to book a table. You can view all our reviews on TripAdvisor here.

Pub Garden in Worthing

We were excited to recently unveil our new and improved pub garden in Worthing

12936560_997262947035871_8620161943774930994_nIf you’ve been following us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, you’ll know that we recently held a grand opening for our pub garden. An outdoor space was just one of the things that drew us the building that is now our Corner House, and when we took it on, we knew we really wanted to make the most of it.

Thanks to Olly Martin Landscape & Garden Services, we’ve created a courtyard pub garden in Worthing to the rear of the building, accessible from the street and through our brand new bifold doors. Wooden pods have been put up, which are heated, making it perfect even in the chillier months. The pods even come with plug sockets too, ideal for charging phones or doing a bit of work alfresco! We held a St Patrick’s Day party to celebrate the grand opening, and lots of fun and Guinness was had by all!

We’re so proud that our traditional pub now has a traditional pub garden in Worthing to go with it – with spring having sprung, we’re getting very excited for the summer months in our gorgeous outside space!

Supplier Profile: Camden Town Brewery

A closer look at a London gem

unspecified-18One of the stars of our pumps is the Camden Hells Lager, one of the classic pints from Camden Town Brewery. It’s founder, Jasper Cuppaidge, was inspired to start brewing beer by his own taste for lager. Disappointed with what the market currently had to offer, he wanted to make lager great again in his own town, and so Camden Town Brewery was born.

Jasper, who already owned a pub, had a good understanding of how to improve on the quality of what was already out there. He strived to strike the perfect balance between hops, yeast and grain, and worked tirelessly to produce a range he was satisfied with. Even today, improving upon their current brews is important to Camden Town Brewery, which means constant monitoring is required.

Camden Hells itself is a classic – easy drinking, with a depth of flavour that makes it stand out from the first sip. It combines the crisp style of a German Pilsner, with the gentle hopping of a Helles to create the perfect drink for lager connoisseurs and beer lovers alike. We’re proud stock this award winning lager from a home grown brewery who have made it big in the beer world.
