Best Value Champagne in Worthing

The Corner House is proud to offer the best value champagne in Worthing

laurent-perrier_logoWith the launch of our wine list last year came an emphasis on one of the finer things in life – champagne. We’re a big fan of bubbles at The Corner House, so we know quality when we taste it. But we’re also conscious to be reasonably priced, so, without compromise, we stock Laurent-Perrier Champagne, offering the best value champagne in Worthing.

Laurent-Perrier was founded in 1812 by André Michel Pierlot, and by October 1948, the house was employing around 20 people and shipping 80,000 bottles a year. Today, Laurent-Perrier exports to more than 120 countries, and in 2005, it was listed only behind Moët et Chandon and Veuve Clicquot as the world’s best selling champagne brands. This gives you an insight how successful this champagne house has become. They’re famous for the freshness and elegance of their champagne, as well as their consistency in quality, and we’re proud to stock it behind our bar.

At The Corner House, we don’t believe that bubbly is just for special occasions, which is why we offer the best value champagne in Worthing. If you find Laurent-Perrier NV Champagne better priced than £44.95 in a pub or restaurant, we’ll match it! See our whole wine list here.

Sussex Photographer Helps Us With Our Christmas Menu in Worthing

Sam Pharoah photographed our Christmas Menu in Worthing

With a set menu as varied and as delicious as ours this Christmas, we knew we couldn’t wait until the festive period for people to see it. This is where Sam Pharoah came in, a local photographer who helped us set up and shoot some of our Christmas dishes ready for November 28th!

30056084193_fa739855f0_zSam is a Worthing based photographer, who has the versatility to photograph weddings and family portraits as well as theatre projects and promotional photography. She applied her product photography skills to our needs at The Corner House, and we’re very impressed with the results!

Star of the show was of course our traditional christmas dinner, complete with chipolatas, roast potatoes and seasonal veg. This looked great alongside the prawn cocktail starter, and tasty traditional Christmas pud with cream. This is of course just a small selection of the festive menu – see the whole thing here. Bookings are still being taking for our Christmas set menu, with table sizes ranging from 2 to 20! Phone us on 01903 216463 to book.

Not only this, but Sam also snapped our Beach House Christmas raffle prize! This is a hamper that contains champagne, tea, coffee, mince pies, a recipe book, and more! corner_house_oct_16-2Find out all about the contents, and the quiz and raffle taking place on December 14th here.

Keep an eye out for Sam’s photos across our social media in the next few weeks!

dsc_7284We’re proud to launch our brand new wine list at The Corner House, which includes some world class Sussex wine in Worthing

With The Corner House aiming to be the best gastro pub in Sussex, this bid wouldn’t be complete without a quality wine list. We’ve put together some of our favourites from across with wine spectrum, to create a varied and great value list guaranteed to have something to suit every taste. This even includes two varieties of Sussex wine!

The star of the sparkling wine and champagne selection on our list has to be Ditchling’s own Ridgeview Bloomsbury. Ridgeview Wine Estate is nestled at the foot of the South Downs in the village of Ditchling, and have been dedicated to creating world class sparkling wines since 1994. Their Bloomsbury wine is rich, dry, moussey, and perfect with shellfish or bread based canapés.

The second Sussex wine on our list is Bacchus white wine from Albourne Wineries. Albourne is a small producer, set over 26 acres near Hassocks in West Sussex. Bacchus is citrus dominated, and goes well with goats cheese, cheese salads, and even fish and chips!

From a silky Rioja from Spain to dry Pinot Grigio from Italy, our wine list in Worthing has got something for everyone, including dessert wines and port. View the whole list here, and pop in to try the special Sussex wine on our new wine list in Worthing.

Pie and Pint Night at The Corner House

Tuesday nights see us showcase our homemade pie in Worthing at The Corner House

Whilst roasts are the highlight of our weekend, and the quiz gets our week off to a flying start, we were yet to introduce a mid-week perk at the Corner House, until recently. From now on, Tuesday nights are Pie & Pint Night, and the first two weeks have gone down very well indeed!

whatsapp-image-2016-10-12-at-10-55-40Our chef likes to make everything he can from scratch in our kitchen, and our pies are no different. Using quality meat, vegetables and pastry, the selection of pies on a Tuesday night includes a meat option (recently steak and ale), a  vegetable pie (pumpkin pie got rave reviews immediately), and a traditional dish, like cottage pie. All of these are served with creamy mash and seasonal vegetables, as well as a pint, for £9.95. The pint can be replaced with a medium glass of house wine, lager (Bedlam Pilsner), or any regular priced ale.

Pie & Pint is ideal for having night off from cooking, without missing out on tasty home cooked food. It’s great value too! We have a feeling it’s going to be very popular over the winter months, and we look forward to Tuesdays being all about pie in Worthing…

Best Gastropub in Sussex

14264162_1110980332330798_2311363262347569942_n

Our homemade food and traditional setting has put us on track to be the best gastropub in Sussex

When we opened The Corner House in October 2015, our emphasis was always going to be on food. The success of the menu at The Beach House had given us an idea of the town’s appetite, and so we aimed for this traditional building to become the best gastropub in Sussex.

One of the most important elements of our food success is our talented chef. From the biscuits that go with coffee, to the bread that make up our sandwiches and the ice cream we serve with desserts, everything is homemade in our kitchen if possible. He even smokes his own fish! We’re passionate about tasty meals using the best homemade ingredients, which makes our menus diverse and interesting, with the extra added bonus of our daily specials board!

Of course, our building itself lends itself to being the best gastropub in Sussex. Our traditional interior features a cosy fire, and when the weather behaves, our gorgeous garden is there for alfresco dining. We’re dog friendly too, so even the family four-legged friend can come along! We offer our famous roasts on a Sunday, with a vegetarian option and a child’s roast for smaller appetites.

To get your mouth watering, take a look at our menus for an idea of what delights we serve up everyday. We’re currently crafting a brand new menu for Autumn, so keep an eye out for those! Our homemade food is putting us on track to be the best gastropub in Sussex – come and taste it for yourself!

Gluten-Free Menu in Worthing

The Corner House are proud to offer a gluten-free menu in Worthing

A diverse range of dietary needs are being catered for in restaurants today, and with our passion for food at the forefront of what we do, we’ve made sure that The Corner House offers a gluten-free menu in Worthing with several of our dishes.

gluten-free menu in WorthingSo what is gluten? Well, it’s the protein found in wheat, rye and barley. It essentially ‘holds’ food together, and the primary sources of gluten include bread, pasta, cereal, pastry, cake and biscuits. Modern diets have seen the amount of gluten in food rise, and for those with an intolerance, this may lead to symptoms such as bloating and stomach cramps. Symptoms for sufferers of coeliac disease are more severe when gluten is present in food.  Many follow a gluten-free diet for a variety of reasons, and we don’t want anyone to miss out on the delicious food that the Corner House has to offer, which is why we offer meals on a gluten-free menu in Worthing.

One of those options is the delicious steak salad. Created using quality cuts of meat, our steak salad is a lighter option for meat lovers, perfect for these last throws of summer. For fans of a pub classic, the ham, egg and chips is for you, a favourite that’s made using home cured ham. Our fish of the day and smoked salmon meals are gluten free too – very apt for our seaside town location!

We’re proud to offer options on a gluten-free menu in Worthing. To best accommodate specific dietary requirements, talk to our friendly staff.
