With meat from a trusted local farm, plus fresh, seasonal vegetables from our grocers in Worthing, and the skilled hands of our chef, our pies are far too good to limit to just the colder months, which is why pie in Worthing goes strong every Tuesday at Pie & Pint Night.

The selection of pies on a Tuesday night includes a meat option (recently steak and ale), a  vegetable pie (pumpkin pie got rave reviews immediately), and a traditional dish, like cottage pie. Supplier Profile: Goldmark Craft Beer

We’re proud to serve Sussex beer in Worthing, including those from Goldmark Brewery

Sourcing what we serve at The Corner House from local suppliers is very important to us, from the fish we cook (fresh from the sea), to the meat we roast (from a local farm) to the beer we put in our pint glasses. We like to include brews from our home county in our line up, and that includes the beautiful beer from Goldmark brewery.

Founded in 2013 by German born Nakedium singer Mark Wolfram Lehmann, whose love of German bier, English ales, and music inspires the beers created by Goldmark in Arundel. Mark started brewing at the tender age of 18, and armed with hundreds of recepies and the help of Nik Hart and multi award winning brewer Francis McCabe, he was able to realise his dream of opening his own brewery. Goldmark is all about brewing slowly, fermenting their beers at lower temperatures to ensure the smoothest perfect pint.

Goldmark supplies pubs, bars, beer festivals and music venues, as well as producing a core range of canned beers. They’re a big fan of variety and experimentation, so they offer a different beer in kegs and casks each month. At The Corner House, we recently has Liquid Gold as part of our line up, Goldmark’s refreshing golden ale, perfect with any type of food, and made using English hops and barley, as well as Citra hops from the US.

We’re always keen to support local breweries by serving Sussex beers in Worthing – keep an eye out for Goldmark’s brews on our pumps in future!

Gluten Free Beer at The Corner House

Looking for gluten free beer in Worthing? We have some right here at The Corner House

gluten free beer in WorthingCoeliac disease, a fairly common condition in the UK, is where the digestive system becomes irritated and inflamed by food and drink products containing gluten. Gluten is a dietary protein found in wheat, barely and rye, which puts items like bread, cakes, pasta, and, believe it or not, beer off limits to sufferers. So, it’s good news for gluten intolerant beer drinkers that BrewDog have stocked The Corner House with their gluten free beer in Worthing, called Vagabond.

Founded in Scotland, BrewDog is a multinational brewery who push the boundaries of beer, and win plenty of awards for their efforts in the process. They produce bottled and canned ales, stouts, IPA’s, and lager, so they know what they’re doing when it comes to a quality brew. Vagabond is a delightful pale ale, brewed ‘with 100% malted barley, American hop varieties, pure Scottish water and their clean-fermenting house yeast’.  This means it’s gluten free, as well as deliciously tropical.

Whether you’re looking for gluten free beer in Worthing, or just fancy sampling this world famous brewer’s latest offering, pop by The Corner House and ask for Vagabond.

Corner House Weekend Special: Tomahawk Steak

Weekend special at our cosy pub in Worthing

As a pub in Worthing that’s crazy about good food, we often like to make an extra special effort, and that’s what we’re doing this weekend with our steak special. It’s set to be a dream for meat lovers.

pub in worthingA Tomahawk steak is an on-the-bone rib steak, cut from the fore-rib. With a large amount of inter-muscular fat, it has an amazing flavour when cooked, and is ideal for sharing. So, with this in mind, on Friday and Saturday (3rd & 4th Feb) we’re serving Tomahawk as a sharing plate, with bernaise and peppercorn sauce, potatoes, and a selection of vegetables. It’s steak with a real wow factor, and we’re very much looking forward to cooking and serving it!

Numbers will be limited, so it’s best to prebook for the Tomahawk platter to avoid disappointment. Bring your steak-mad friends or family, and don’t miss out on this (extra) special. Book on 01903 216463.

(Anti) Valentine’s Day in Worthing at The Corner House

We’re doing Valentine’s day in Worthing our way

valentine's day in WorthingIt’s the same every year as we head towards 14th February. The shops fill up with soppy cards, huge bunches of flowers sit proudly at the front of supermarkets, and the pressure is piled on to not only buy gifts, but also go out for an extra romantic evening with your other half. It’s not exactly a highlight of the year for single people either. This year, however, we’re shunning the traditional customs of Valentine’s day in Worthing. You won’t find twee tables for two, or fresh red roses on every table, or even a romantic menu at The Corner House. We’re doing February 14th our way, and we’re calling it anti-Valentine’s day.

Our thinking behind this is that we’ll provide a good night at the pub, with quality food and a cosy atmosphere, to be enjoyed whether you’re single, in a relationship, or just fancy a night out with your best friends. There’ll be no soppy stuff, or exclusive menus for loved up couples – everyone is welcome. In recognition of the occasion, we’re going to have some exceptional specials in addition to our usual menu, guaranteed to be delicious. These will be revealed nearer the time.

Snub the flowery stuff that usually comes with Valentines day, and escape the restriction of an expensive set menu. Enjoy February 14th cocooned within the cosy Corner House.
